面影

サイは陸上動物の中で、ゾウの次に大きな動物だと聞きます。
この絵は私が19歳のときに、上野動物園で描いたスケッチを元に、雲肌麻紙と岩絵の具を使って描いた日本画です。
サイは恐竜やゾウにも似ていて見た目がかわいい。
絶滅危惧種になっていますが、これからも元気に育ってほしい動物の一つです。
Rhinoceroses are always giving too much.
This is my art work that I painted more than 10 years ago. I drew sketches of the two rhinoceroses in Ueno Zoo park in Tokyo, and painted with a Japanese paper and natural mineral pigments.
Unfortunately rhinoceroses are one of the endangered species from a quiet along time ago but I hope these two rhinoceroses will live happily ever after.

インドで買った、木彫りの置物２つ。

左のライオンの形が彫られたものは、「アショーカの獅子柱頭」です。

右はゾウの形をした神様、「ガネーシャ」です。

木の温もりと丸っこいフォルムが好きです。

光明丸とそら豆

骨董市で買った昔の丸薬と、いただき物のそら豆。

「願成閣」という製薬会社の名前は、右から読むので戦前のものだと思います。

今は飲めるものではありませんが、パッケージのデザインがかっこいいです。

薬に付属されていた指示書には、自然療法の大切さについて書かれてました。

Give me chocolate

インドで子どもに声かけられて一番印象的だった言葉「ギブミーチョコレート」。

いろんな目をした子どもがいましたが、その中でも、のどかな田舎にいた子ども二人がキラキラした声で私に話しかけてくれた記憶があります。

そんな思い出を家にあるチョコレートで。

これからも、世界中の子どもの未来が輝きますように。

I’ve been to more than 10 countries.

and it was the first time in India for me to be asked  “Give me chocolate” .

I wish for true happiness for children in Japan and all over the world.
